PHP
Only PHP as a CGI (FastCGI) is included for now, until I decide if the Apache module PHP is worthwhile. It requires the Apple-supplied Apache 1.3, it is NOT intended for Apache 2 and may not work in a custom built Apache 1.3. Requires the UnixImageIO, FreeType and SQLite3 frameworks. It will enable PHP in Apache for you. The PHP module does not overwrite Apple's included PHP, which avoids the problem of Apple updating and overwriting this one (as would happen in my old build instructions). See the readme for a complete list of included extensions. The included PHP Enabler will let you easily switch between any of these PHPs. The PDFlib PDF extension is not included at this time. I never really liked PDFlib - bloated with customized libtiff and not truly free - and it took a while to update it for 64bit Leopard (and then it took me a while to realize they had limited the 64bit compiling ability a little in the "Lite" version). My early search for alternatives turned up libharu, but it was in very early development stages. Now it seems to be mature. For testing purposes, I have made a separate Haru PDF extension with a simple installation (download link at the top of this page). Try it out, let me know how it works. Eventually I'll roll it into my PHP distribution. Note that the PHP extension is in very early stages of development and things can radically change. Old PantherFor an up to date PHP that runs on Panther, see the build instructions. |
